CAR parking in Blackpool is to come under the spotlight to make sure there are enough spaces in the town centre as it is redeveloped.
Council bosses are planning to bring more jobs into the central part of the resort, meaning it is vital there are enough spaces for workers.

And the £220m redevelopment of Talbot Gateway will also lead to a change in parking.

The Talbot bus station car park will remain in place for now but a new car park is due to open before Christmas when the indoor bowling centre on Lark Hill Street is demolished. [read more]

A SEARCH has been launched to find the lucky owner of a winning lottery ticket bought in Blackpool. The winning ticket – which is worth a cool £105,064 – was bought somewhere in the resort.

It matched five numbers – 9, 17, 26, 32, 36 and the bonus ball was 6 – in the National Lottery draw on August 8. [read more]

Children from disadvantaged backgrounds will get the chance to see theatre stars, such as Joseph star Craig Chalmers, with a new free ticket scheme.

Blackpool's Grand Theatre has already welcomed the Art's Council's scheme to give away more than 63,000 tickets to 16 to 25-year-olds over the next two years, and now it has teamed up with 12 children's organisations to offer access to tickets. [read more]
